Put a zing into your spring with the riot of colour and texture in this collection of tulips. Ideal in beds, borders or pots they will brighten up your garden in April and May. Also good for naturalising, these tulips will coat your garden in glorious technicolour. Bring them inside too as they make great cut flowers for the vase which is one of the best ways to enjoy the delightful scent of tulip 'Ballerina' up close.

In each collection you wil receive the following bulbs:

  • 10 x Tulipa 'Seadov': Magnificent red flowers make a big statement when they appear in mid-spring. They look superb when mixed with hot colours like orange and yellow, but to create contrast, plant them with rich purples. Grows to 30cm tall.

  • 10 x Tulipa 'Ballerina': A lovely lily-flowered tulip with soft tangerine orange flowers, and a heady scent when warmed in the sun. This is a late spring-flowering tulip that looks stunning planted in bold drifts or growing up through forget-me-not flowers. Grows to 55cm tall.

  • 10 x Tulipa 'Passionale': Large, deep pinkish plum blooms, which have a deeper purple flame on their outer edges, top the stout stems from mid-spring. The petal edges have a very discreet ruffle that gives them a softness that is really very pretty. They mix with lots of colours, particularly forget-me-not blue, apricot and softer shades of pink. Grows to 50cm tall.

  • 10 x Tulipa 'Pink Impression': An easy to mix pink, that will add height and colour to the spring bedding display. The flowers are well-shaped and are also very good for cutting and adding to a vase. They have an unusual hint of bronze in the petals, which becomes less noticeable as the flowers age. Sublime. Grows to 55cm tall.

  • 5 x Tulipa 'Black Parrot': Dramatic, blackish-purple, cup-shaped flowers with irregularly cut wavy petals in May and strap-like, grey-green leaves. These spectacular black parrot tulips, one of the darkest varieties currently available, make excellent cut-flowers. To prevent the exotic flowers from flopping they're best planted close together in a sunny, sheltered, well-drained spot. Grows to 55cm tall.

  • Garden care: From August to November plant the bulbs 10-15cm deep and 10-15cm apart in a sunny spot with fertile, well-drained soil. While actively growing, keep them moderately well watered and remove the flowers after they have faded. At that stage a balanced liquid fertiliser can be applied each week for 4 weeks before they die down.
    • Humans: Harmful if eaten; skin allergen; Pets: Ornamental bulbs - not to be eaten
