Shortlisted for ‘Product of the Year’ at the 2013 Chelsea Flower Show, this royal Dutch hoe is one of our favourite Sneeboer tools.

It’s handy in spring when weeds are easy to remove, but becomes indispensable in summer when stubborn weeds are more abundant and the ground is harder and drier.

The serrated front edge increases the blade's cutting surface by 35%, making it much more effective at slicing into compacted soil than a regular Dutch hoe. The sharp pointed 'teeth' also help you weed accurately between plants in crowded areas.

The reverse of the blade has a bevelled edge and hook to slice and lift roots on the pull stroke for quicker, more efficient weeding.

Fitted to a lightweight ash handle, the hoe weighs less than 1kg for easy manoeuvrability. The ergonomic grip distributes pressure evenly across your whole hand to maximise pushing power and prevent blisters.

Made from rust-resistant stainless steel and FSC-certified solid ash. Supplied with a 10-year guarantee on steel parts (1 year for the handle).

Please note: take care not to place excessive strain on wooden handles when levering out roots or rocks in very firm soil. To help, water the area well to soften ground first. A crowbar may be more suitable for very heavy or stubborn obstacles.
