The upright habit of this house plant makes it perfect for smaller rooms, hallways or tight corners. Its stems are clothed with glossy leaves, which are almost circular (hence it sometimes being referred to as the dinner plate aralia), but its outer edge is gently scalloped, and it has a purple flush to the underside.
Home care: Water moderately when in growth, allowing the top of the compost to dry out before repeating the process, and keep drier in winter. Mist the leaves occasionally with water and make sure winter temperatures are maintained above 15°C. Repot every couple of years.
