A sun-loving, sprawling, low-growing herbaceous perennial, perfect for pots, containers or spilling over and softening low garden walls. ‘King Alfred’ has pale lemon coloured flowers with flattened heads in tiny clusters that emerge from delicate, ferny, grey-green foliage between June and August. - Garden care: Achilleas do not like wet soil. 'King Alfred' is a low-growing variety so staking may not be required; if it is, stake using bamboo canes or brushwood before the flowers appear. Cut down to the ground in late winter, but resist the urge to do this earlier, as the seed heads look lovely in the winter light and may provide a food source for birds. Pull out seedlings as they appear, as they rarely match the host plant. Lift and divide large clumps in late autumn or early spring.
