This compact Alstroemeria variety dazzles with coral and salmon pink blooms. The papery flowers feature white inner petals speckled with deep red-brown, adding a striking contrast.
Known for its free-flowering nature, 'Valley Girl' boasts lush green foliage, is ideal for borders and patio pots, and also makes a long-lasting cut flower.

Plant in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in a sunny or lightly shaded position, ideally sheltered from strong winds. If planting into large containers, use a general-purpose potting compost. Water regularly during the growing season, especially in dry spells, but avoid waterlogging.
Newly planted Alstroemerias should be given a very generous 20cm (8") deep mulch of chipped bark in their first winter to help the plants become established. In subsequent autumns, provide a dry mulch of bracken or bark chippings to help protect the crowns.
After flowering, cut back the faded flower-stems, but make sure you always wear gloves when working with Peruvian lilies, as contact with the foliage may cause skin irritation.
