Perfect for smaller spaces, Betula 'Fastigiata Joes' has a neat, narrow pyramidal habit. The small leaves and delicately twisting branches look particularly elegant against the characteristic white bark which usually develops in 3-5 years. Pretty catkins adorn the tree in spring and in autumn the leaves turn attractive shades of yellow before falling. Shortlisted for the Plant of the Year at Chelsea 2017. - Garden care: Requires minimal pruning. Remove any broken, diseased or crossing branches in late autumn or winter. When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake well.
