More compact than many of the others varieties, this trumpet vine is ideal for pots or smaller gardens. It's grown for it's dazzling, trumpet-shaped flowers, which liven up the late summer and autumn display. Even when not in bloom however, the pinnate foliage looks attractive and adds textural interest to the planting scheme.

  • Garden care: Until the plant has fully established, the shoots need to be trained and tied to a trellis or framework of horizontal wires. In February or March prune the sideshoots to within three or four buds of the permanent framework of the plant. It's happiest when grown on a warm, sunny wall where it can be protected from hard frosts.
