Forming a compact mound of mid-green foliage, this deciduous shrub also produces rounded clusters of small white flowers, each with a slender protruding stamen, which creates a pinwheel-like effect. These open from green buds and have a honey-like scent that will help attract butterflies and other beneficial pollinators to the garden.
- Garden care: Cut it back hard in March, taking it back to within 3 or 4 buds from the base.
