Offering a long season of interest, the spiny stems of this small deciduous tree carry clusters of white flowers in late spring and early summer, and relatively large, bright red fruit in late summer. Then, in the autumn, the dark green leaves take on rich shades of red, yellow and orange before they are shed for winter.

  • Garden care: Requires minimal pruning. Remove any broken, diseased or crossing branches in late autumn or winter. When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly.
  • Humans/Pets: Fruit are ornamental - not to be eaten
