This is a gorgeous plant, which although it can be quite challenging will reward you with the most highly scented, exquisite flowers. The perfume from these plants is intoxicating, filling the surrounding area with fragrance. The perfectly formed rose-like 'waxy' white, double flowers, which are often used in bridal bouquets, are supported by rich green glossy leaves to form a beautifully rounded plant. ‘Double Diamonds’ has a vigorous, upright habit and is easier to grow than many other gardenia. - Garden care: Keep it potted up, so if your garden receives hard frost it can easily be moved from a sunny patio in summer to an unheated conservatory or greenhouse in winter. Throughought the growing season, feed with a balanced ericaceous fertiliser and keep the compost moist but not saturated using soft water. In winter, keep the compost reasonably dry. Top-dress or pot on using ericaceous compost and lightly trim over-long shoots immediately after flowering has finished.
