This dwarf, evergreen shrub forms a natural dome shape and produces masses of dainty clusters of white flowers on short spikes in summer. The tightly packed, tiny, bright green foliage makes it look as if it has been clipped, so it's ideal for a low-maintenance garden, or in groups as a punctuation point for airy perennials and wispy grasses, or en masse beside paths or driveways. Like most hebes, it will flourish in a range of conditions, and once established, is drought-tolerant, too. Its strong shape also makes it an excellent foil for foliage plants such as Heucheras. The flowers are a magnet for bees and butterflies.

  • Garden care: Needs minimal pruning. Remove misplaced or frost damaged branches in late spring.
