Beautiful, rich plum, purple and deep red tones highlighted by soft tangerine orange describes this vibrant tulip collection. Featuring three remarkable, colourful and long-lasting varieties each with an egg-shaped or lily-petalled form, this collection will spice up your spring borders and floral displays.

In each collection you will receive the following:

  • 10 × Tulipa 'Ballerina': A lovely lily-flowered tulip with soft tangerine orange flowers, and a heady scent when warmed in the sun. This is a late spring-flowering tulip that looks stunning planted in bold drifts or growing up through forget-me-not flowers. Grows to 55cm.

  • 10 × Tulipa 'Purple Dream':Initially having a slender, goblet-shaped profile, the lavender purple flowers become more open as they age, which then reveals their glowing white eye. An excellent addition to the spring border where they will not only add rich colour, but height and structure too. Grows to 55cm.

  • 10 × Tulipa 'Paul Scherer': Tulip breeders have been trying for years to create a variety that produces a near-black flower on a tall stem - and here it is! The blooms are large, oval, almost egg-shaped, and sit on top of a sturdy stem in late spring. Plant in bold drifts for big impact, or tone it down with silvers and pinks. This variety has been granted the prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society. Grows to 50cm.

  • Garden care: From August to November plant the bulbs 10-15cm deep and 10-15cm apart in a sunny spot with fertile, well-drained soil. While actively growing, keep them moderately well watered and remove the flowers after they have faded. At that stage a balanced liquid fertiliser can be applied each week for 4 weeks before they die down.
    • Humans: Harmful if eaten; skin allergen; Pets: Ornamental bulbs - not to be eaten
