‘Eclipse’ is an impressive, large-flowered and highly scented Spencer-type sweet pea with mauve-pink blooms. Excellent grown as a cut flower, over time these pinkish blooms darken to purple with age, adding to their appeal. Provide a trellis, obelisk or similar supportive framework for this fabulously floriferous annual climber to scramble up.

Pots are supplied with 5-7 seedlings.

  • Garden care:
Before planting out, incorporate lots of well-rotted organic matter in the planting hole. Apply a balanced liquid plant food every two weeks while in growth and deadhead regulary to encourage more flowers.

  • Sowing instructions:
From October to late March, sow seeds into pots filled with good-quality seed compost and grow them on in a cold frame. Then, after the worst frosts have passed, the seedlings can either be planted out or potted up for the patio. Alternatively, direct sowings can be made in October or from March to April.

  • Sow: January to May or September to October
    • Humans/Pets: Pods and seeds are not edible
