Lavandula stoechas subsp. 'Early Pink' (PBR)
- available to order from late summer
- 2 litre pot
- Position: full sun
- Soil: moderately fertile, well-drained soil
- Rate of growth: average
- Flowering period: June to July
- Hardiness: frost hardy
Producing an early flush of rich purple-pink flowerspikes, each crowned with showy pink bracts, this gorgeous new lavender is ideal for kicking off the summer season, while supplying the bees with a reliable source of nectar. It looks great when lining the edges of a path or border, and will also flourish in pots or window boxes.
- Garden care: Cut back the stalks after the flowers have faded and carefully trim back again in April, taking care not to cut into old wood. As it's borderline hardy it is best grown in a container in colder areas of the country and should be over-wintered in a cool greenhouse or conservatory.
