A handsome new hybrid, with short tendrils and bright red, long-lasting pitchers that tend to be produced freely even in low light levels. The lustrous yellow-green leaves have a very fine red margin that also adds to the appeal of this carnivorous plant, which is said to have a greater tolerance to variations in temperature than many other forms. 'Bloody Mary' is a compact, easy to care for pitcher plant with characteristic deep red pitchers. Red and green flowers periodically appear in mature plants during the earlier parts of the growing seaon under optimal, warm and humid conditions (20-30°C/68-86°F).
Please note that the plant comes in a 12cm nursery pot as standard, unless a decorative pot cover is included as an option.

Nepenthes thrive in warm, humid, and partly shady environments, daytime temperatures should be maintained around 18-27°C, with a minimum of 7°C at night, making them ideal for year-round indoor cultivation. They prefer being watered with rainwater, and many species benefit from sitting in a saucer filled with 2.5-5cm (1-2in) of water during the growing season. In winter, it's best to keep the compost damp rather than wet. Never add water into the pitchers as this can cause them to shrivel and die. Pot on in spring using a specialist carnivorous compost.
