A popular dwarf willow that is much loved for its flamboyant ‘flamingo’ foliage in spring – a variegated mix of green and white, with pink tips. The narrow, lance-shaped leaves fade to green over the season to be replaced by coral-orange stems over the winter. A good choice for smaller gardens, Salix integra ‘Hakuro-nishiki’ is a compact shrub or small tree bearing the prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society.

  • Garden care: Prune back hard in winter. Remove any broken, diseased or crossing branches in late autumn or winter and shorten any over-long shoots. When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted compost in the planting hole.
