Up to 300 times sweeter than sugar, the fresh leaves of stevia are used as a low-calorie, natural sugar alternative in many foods. Leaves may also be dried and used in a similar way. Attractive white flowers with purple accents sugarcoat the uniform and basally branching stems later in the season. Great for pots and an amazing experience to taste such sweetness in an otherwise unassuming strap-like leaf.

  • Garden care: Pinch out the growing tips regularly to encourage new growth. It can be moved outside during the summer months, but as soon as the temperatures start to dip, bring it inside to a cool conservatory or bright windowsill, well away from central heating radiators.
