Great for solo display or clustering with our smaller bowls, this large terracotta bowl is a good generous size to give you lots of planting options. Pack it with bright seasonal bulbs or bedding, pretty quilted hostas, clusters of small plants or soft fragrant herbs and place it somewhere you can admire it.

Every bowl is hand thrown in Turkey by Argun and his son, 3rd and 4th generation potters from the Izmir region on the Aegean coast. Made using local clay, they will age to a wonderful patina as the salts slowly leach to the surface.

Though fired to 1080°C to make them as frost resistant as possible, we would always suggest moving empty or full bowls into a sheltered spot in the colder months.

Any white specks in the terracotta are lime granules, which occur naturally in raw Turkish clay. Sometimes when a pot is fired, the clay around them can split out a little, but this won't compromise the strength of the finished product. The lime helps to bind the clay and ultimately makes for a stronger pot.

Please note: as these bowls are thrown by hand, they will vary slightly in height and diameter from batch to batch, so the measurements below are approximate. Supplied with a drainage hole.
