Cream and green variegated foliage, which has a fleshy texture, forms along the length of the lax stems of this beautiful climber. In time, domed clusters of waxy pink flowers may also appear, and these usually emit a sweet perfume in the evening.
Typically, Hoya carnosa 'Krimson Queen' is sent out without any flowers, but its colourful foliage looks great popped into a decorative pot cover and placed on a shelf. Alternatively, choose the hanging basket option and let the stems cascade.

Wax flower thrives in bright, indirect light and benefits from a little direct sun in the early morning or late afternoon to encourage flower bud formation. Keep the soil consistently moist during the summer but avoid waterlogging, and reduce watering in the colder months, giving the plant a good drink only when the soil is reasonably dry.
Mist the leaves regularly, especially if growing near central heating, and feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser monthly while actively growing. Maintain temperatures above 10°C (50°F) in winter, with ideal growing conditions around 18-25?°C (65-77°F).
