An attractive garden plant with year round interest, and ideally suited for coastal areas, Drimys lanceolata 'Red Spice' is a striking and densely branched evergreen shrub with unique and alluring claret-red stems. In spring, it produces clusters of small, fragrant white flowers that stand out beautifully against the dark green foliage. These are followed on female plants by spherical black berries which ripen in early autumn. As a member of the Winteraceae family, this plant is also known for its aromatic bark, which has a spicy scent. With a mature height of 2-3m and a compact habit, this plant is ideal for use in borders, as a specimen plant, or as an informal hedge.

Please note we are unable to guarantee whether the plant you receive will be male or female.
