Bringing a delightful burst of colour to late autumn days, this evergreen flowering tea unveils its soft pink peony flowers with white-edged petals and occasional rose stripes, making a striking contrast against the glossy evergreen foliage. Blooming from late October through December, this exquisite variety adds vibrancy to the darkest months of the year when little else is in bloom. Perfect for containers and acid borders, 'Strawberry Swirl' thrives in various settings, from patios to woodland gardens, providing low-maintenance beauty as a specimen plant or when trained against walls and fences. Its hardiness surpasses pure sasanqua species, yet it appreciates a sheltered spot with shade from the early morning sun, ensuring its continued splendour season after season.

  • Garden care:
To prevent damage to the emerging buds and flowers protect from cold, dry winds and early morning sun. Water established plants in dry weather to prevent bud drop. Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser in mid-spring and again in June. Top-dress annually with shredded bark or well-rotted leaf mould. After flowering lightly trim or prune any branches that spoil the appearance of the plant. Prefers acidic soil with plenty of organic matter and good drainage.
