Planting tips: Provide support for the taller plants by staking in spring with bamboo canes. After flowering remove the faded flower-heads to encourage more to come, and mulch with a generous layer of compost in autumn. The Dahlias should be cut back and gently lifted after the first hard frost, and the tubers should be stored in a cool dry spot until the spring.
