The mid-green leaves of this semi-evergreen climber are tinged with purple in winter, and emerge flushed with bronze in spring. It makes an ideal backdrop for the scented, cream-coloured flowers, which appear in spring. It's great for covering ugly walls, and it also works really well trained over a pergola, where the pendent flower clusters can be viewed from below. - Garden care: Prune back after flowering where necessary.
