Forming a creeping carpet of deeply dissected foliage, ‘Salome’ is a wonderful, low-maintenance, hardy geranium that produces dusky violet-lilac flowers with distinctive dark purple veining over a long season. The widely spaced petals radiate from an even darker centre making this an unusual cottage garden perennial for the front of the border, for softening the edges of a path, or for spilling over the sides of a pot.

  • Garden care: In midsummer rejuvenate plants that are beginning to look jaded, by removing old flowered stems and leaves. Lift and divide large colonies in spring.
