A colourful addition to a rock garden or raised bed, it also offers a long season of interest when potted up on the patio.

  • Garden care: Avoid overwatering during the dormant period and in more exposed regions, move potted plants to a sheltered spot (at the base of a south-facing wall, a porch or an unheated greenhouse) in winter.
