A beautifully coloured foliage house plant, with vibrant pinkish red leaves, each edged with an irregular green margin. ‘Red Star’ loves low light, which is unusual for brightly coloured plants, so it's perfect for brightening up a darker corner. Tolerant of low humidity and drought, this undemanding house plant is great for beginners, and it would also make a perfect gift.
Please note that the pot in the photograph is not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery alternative), but we have a wide and wonderful range on our website to choose from.

Aglaonema grows best in bright, indirect light but will cope well in lower light areas too. Let the top inch of soil dry out before watering, preferably with rainwater, and always use a pot with good drainage to avoid waterlogging (ensure the pot is not sitting in water within a decorative cover).
Feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertiliser during spring and summer. Wipe the leaves occasionally to remove dust and keep them looking their best. This plant prefers warm conditions, so keep it above 16°C (61°F) and away from cold draughts.
In winter, reduce watering and allow the plant to rest. Increase humidity by misting the leaves regularly, especially in heated homes. Repot every few years in spring using a free-draining compost.
