  • ‘Escargot’ is an evergreen, rhizomatous perennial with striking, spiral-shaped foliage. The patternisation of the leaves, with spiraling green, silver and chocolate brown hues adds to the snail-like appearance. Grow either as a fascinating houseplant or as a summer-interest foliage plant in a slightly shady spot.

We’re proud to support our British growers, and having been raised by one of our trusted UK nurseries, this indoor plant has a low carbon footprint, which makes it perfect for an eco-friendly collection or gift.

  • Home care:
Rex begonias require special care during the summer months. It's best to keep them in shaded areas and provide ample watering, ensuring proper drainage and maintaining a humid atmosphere around the plants. Avoid wetting the leaves or the crown.

As winter approaches, reduce the frequency of watering. Allow the compost surface to dry out before watering again. These begonias thrive with a minimum winter temperature of 13°C (55°F) across all varieties.

For optimal growth, feed them every two weeks from May to September using a high nitrogen fertiliser.
  • Humans/Pets: Ornamental bulbs - not to be eaten
