  • Growing like a dwarf tree fern, ‘Silver Lady’ will slowly develop a slender, black trunk as it ages, and in time, the symmetrical, palm-like fronds will form a crown up to nearly 1m across. A tropical-looking house plant, it can also be used as seasonal, frost-tender addition to a shady spot in the summer garden.

We’re proud to support our British growers, and having been raised by one of our trusted UK nurseries, this indoor plant has a low carbon footprint, which makes it perfect for an eco-friendly collection or gift.

Please note that the pot in the photograph is not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery alternative), but we have a wide and wonderful range on our website to choose from.

  • Home care:
Avoid handling the newly emerging fronds and water regularly in the growing season so that the compost remains moist but not waterlogged. Mist the leaves regularly with water - particularly in winter when the central heating is turned on. Blechnums tend to be intolerant to lime, so if possible, use rainwater. Maintain temperatures above 10°C in winter and repot in spring when the plant becomes root-bound.
