An upright, narrow shrub blooming with abundant pale pink formal double flowers in early spring. The gorgeous blooms emerge a paler pink before darkening to a delicate fuchsia hue, eventually reaching 10cm (4in) wide when fully open. Tightly packed petals create a rose-like flower form that pop against the dark green, slightly matt foliage. Hardy and vigorous, 'E.G. Waterhouse' has a columnar habit perfect for compact spaces and suitably large pots.

  • Garden care:
To prevent damage to the emerging buds and flowers protect from cold, dry winds and early morning sun. Water established plants in dry weather to prevent bud drop. Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser in mid-spring and again in June. Top-dress annually with shredded bark or well-rotted leaf mould. After flowering lightly trim or prune any branches that spoil the appearance of the plant.
