The Nordmann Fir is one of the most sought after Christmas trees - not only because it tends to hang onto its grey-green needles (so less mess to clean up), but also because it has a classic, horizontally tiered shape, that becomes wider towards the base - allowing plenty of room for all the presents!

These British-grown trees have been grown in their pots over several years on farmland in Southern and Eastern Scotland. This means they will settle into their new homes very easily, where they can either be potted up and grown on, or planted out in the garden. They can be brought inside the house for short periods (up to 2 weeks in cool, bright conditions), which makes them perfect for the Christmas festivities - and potentially they could be used year after year.

How to care for your tree: Keep your tree outside for as long as possible, and when you do move it inside, find a spot away from radiators, fires or draughty doorways. Keep it really well watered, and move it back outside if it starts to look a little lacklustre. If you want to keep it in a pot, pot it up into something larger each year (using John Innes No. 2 compost) and keep it in a sunny spot. Keep in mind that if you do plant it out, it can (eventually) grow to around 100 feet or more!
