This rounded, compact, elegant small tree has a graceful, well-rounded form with dense branches adorned with thorns and glossy, leathery, oval-shaped leaves. During mid-summer, clusters of white flowers emerge, giving way to vibrant orange-red haws that persist throughout the winter season.
Crataegus × lavalleei 'Carrierei' is undemanding in its requirements, thriving in various environments including coastal, exposed, polluted, and damp locations. When planting, add some soil conditioner (well-rotted compost) to the planting hole and some mycorrhizal fungi to aid root establishment.
