This coneflower is a scene-stealer. It has iridescent flowerheads that are made up of chunky hot pink petals, which surround a broad orange eye. These look amazing with clashing purples, red and yellows, or they can be toned down with softer pinks. Bees love them and they are also good for cutting.
- Garden care: Lift and divide congested colonies in autumn or spring. In autumn cut back all dead flower stems to the ground. Coneflowers benefit from a spring or autumn mulch with well-rotted compost.
