Nodding, green-flushed yellow bells appear in late spring or early summer (sometimes up to 6 on each stem), creating an attractive contrast to the grey-green foliage. Each flower can grow to around 4.5cm long, so the overall effect is quite striking. This is accented further by the tuft-like spray of foliage, which often appears above the flowers. A tough but beautiful plant, which will flourish in full sun or partial shade.

  • Garden care: Plant 10cm (5in) deep and a similar distance apart from September to November in fertile, well-drained soil. After flowering, allow the foliage to die back completely before removing it, and keep an eye out for slug and snail damage when the new foliage is emerging in spring.
  • CAUTION toxic if eaten/skin & eye irritant
