This eye-catching ornamental grass can be used in so many ways...as a path edging, massed together as bold blocks of colour or as underplanting for shrubs. ‘Beni-kaze’ has short wide green leaves which assume tones of red and purple as the season develops. In late summer, slender, pale-green flower spikes appear, lasting well into winter.

  • Garden care: Incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost into the planting hole. Leave flower heads to dry out through the winter, adding valuab valuable texture to plantings. Apply a light mulch (3cm) of well-rotted garden compost after cutting back old foliage and before new growth emerges in spring.
