This captivating iris variety boasts a unique colour palette that evolves as the blooms unfurl. Initially, the falls appear orange due to heavy purple brushstrokes on a yellow base, creating a striking visual effect. 'Ginger Twist' showcases standards that transition from pale lemony cream to white, delicately washed with lilac hues. As the flowers mature, the falls reveal intricate veining and mottling in coppery brown atop a vibrant turmeric yellow ground. This dynamic colour play, reminiscent of its namesake spice, makes this versatlie iris a standout addition to reliably moist perennial borders, cut flower gardens, or as a focal point in wetter soils or bog gardens.

  • Garden care:
These are sold as bare root plants should be planted out as soon as possible after they arrive. Plant in soil that has been improved with well-rotted manure or garden compost and do not allow to dry out, particularly as the plant is getting established. If grown in a container, it will need dividing and repotting every couple of years in spring. Remove the stems after flowering from the base as this will concentrate the plant's energy into producing new rhizomes. Divide and replant about every three years.
