Beautiful, pure white flowers with unusual, rounded, flared petals and a yellow base appear in May and June among slender, bright green, strappy leaves. Like all Siberian flag irises, 'White Swirl' is a clump-forming plant that prefers not to be over-crowded. It's happiest in soils that are reliably moist, with a neutral to slightly acid pH, however it can also tolerate drier conditions. It looks wonderful when planted in bold drifts through borders or beside water, while its naturally spreading habit makes it particularly useful for stabilising banks which are susceptible to erosion.

  • Garden care: Plant in soil that has been improved with well-rotted manure or garden compost and do not allow to dry out, particularly as the plant is getting established. If grown in a container, it will need dividing and repotting every couple of years in spring.
  • Humans/Pets: Harmful if eaten
