In early summer, upright poker-like flowerspikes appear, each tightly packed with pink flushed buds. Over the next few weeks, these open (starting from the base of the spike), to warm, apricot-orange flowers that are flushed with gold. Try teaming them with deep plum or strong purple tones for a jaw-dropping display. - Garden care: Deadhead the faded blooms to encourage a second flush of flowers. In autumn cover the crown of the plant to protect against frost damage.
- Pets: TOXIC if eaten; Humans: Harmful if eaten
