  • Rate of growth: slow
  • Flowering period: April
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

A stunning, award-winning variety bred in Denmark. Dark purple-pink flowers light up the tree in spring, and are set off beautifully by the dark purple-black foliage which emerges around the same time. The leaves remain dark all season, though can take on a hint of green as they age. From late summer small dark maroon crab apples appear and can persist well into the autumn. With a compact upright habit this is a super variety for growing in a large patio pot or in the garden.

  • Garden care: When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly. Remove dead, diseased and crossing branches while the tree is dormant.
