Currently the most resistant variety to peach leaf curl available, 'Avalon Pride' also tends to be less susceptible to frost damage than many of the other peaches. The large orange-red fruits are mouth-wateringly juicy, and have a delicious flavour, while the pink flowers, which appear in the spring, look divine. It's happiest in a sunny, sheltered spot. - Garden care: When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly. Prune in summer to reduce the risk of silver leaf and bacterial canker.
