Periwinkle 'Soiree Dark Pink with Eye' is an outstanding choice for UK summer seasonal plantings, offering vibrant colour and exceptional versatility.

A tender cousin of the hardier perennial periwinkle, Catharanthus' unique flowers feature striking 5 white petals with a bold dark pink central eye, creating a dramatic and elegant contrast that stands out in baskets, pots, and containers.

This heat-loving, low-maintenance plant thrives in full sun, making it perfect for adding long-lasting colour to patios, balconies, and garden beds throughout the warmer months. Its compact, mounding growth habit ensures a neat and tidy display, while its ability to tolerate drought once established makes it an ideal option for busy gardeners seeking reliable, season-long performance.

  • Garden care:
We recommend potting these cuttings up into 9cm pots and growing on in a well-lit, frost-free spot. Plant out in well-drained soil or a good quality multipurpose potting compost after the risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny spot, as this heat-loving plant thrives in full sun.

Water regularly, especially during dry spells, to keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Feed with a high-potash fertiliser, such as Tomorite, every couple of weeks during the growing season to encourage an abundance of flowers

Remove faded blooms to promote continuous flowering and maintain a tidy appearance.
