Bright, clustered blooms in a wide mix of colours bring long-lasting impact to beds, borders, and containers from early summer into autumn. The compact, bushy growth makes it an excellent choice for seasonal planting schemes where consistent colour and scent are needed.
Phlox drummondii 'Tapestry Mixed' produces masses of flowers in shades ranging from soft pastels to rich, vibrant tones, often with bicolour or picotee markings. The plants are easy to grow, thrive in full sun, and perform well in fertile, well-drained soil. Ideal as a bedding annual, they also work well in pots and hanging baskets, where their fragrance and long flowering season add continuous interest.
Popular for cutting, the blooms last well in a vase, making this cultivated variety versatile for both garden and floral use.

Grow on under glass until all risk of frost has passed and they can be planted outside in a well-prepared bed or container.
Pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushier growth, and feed at regular intervals throughout summer with a high-potash fertiliser. Taller plants may need supporting with brushwood stems in exposed positions.

Sow indoors between February and April (1.5mm deep) into moist seed compost in either trays or pots. Exclude light and maintain a temperature of 18-20°C (germination takes 10-21 days). Once large enough to handle, transplant seedlings to 9cm pots.
Pinch out growing points to encourage a bushy habit. Acclimatise outdoors and plant out after risk of frost has passed at 25cm spacing. Alternatively, sow direct from April to May.
