Dainty, pink-tinted white flowers in June and small, dark purple leaves, maple-like leaves. This wonderful purple-leaved ninebark is perfect for a shrub border with moist but well-drained acid soil. As long as the old stems are cut back after flowering the new spring growth will be superior with bigger leaves.
- Garden care: Prune old stems back to the base after flowering. After pruning apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted garden compost around the base of the plant.
