Whorls of dark to bright green, needle-like leaves on thick, upright branches and dark brown female cones. This slow-growing, dwarf mountain pine is perfect for a sunny, well-drained, rockery or gravel garden. Almost spherical in shape, it works particularly well planted next to a clump of straw-coloured 'pony-tail grass' (Stipa tenuissima). - Garden care: Since this variety is slow-growing pruning should be kept to a minimum. To modify the shape of the plant remove part of the growing shoots in spring.
