  • Position: Full sun or lightly dappled shade
  • Soil: Moderately fertile, moist, well-drained soil
  • Rate of growth: Fast
  • Flowering period: April to May
  • Hardiness: Fully hardy

  • Elegant fern-like leaves appear in spring shortly before bunches of tiny white flowers. Clumps of small, round berries cover the tree in late summer to autumn, which are quickly devoured by birds. Then in autumn the foliage turns a vibrant red before falling. This conical-shaped tree can tolerate harsh conditions and is perfect for a small, urban garden.

  • Garden care: Requires minimal pruning. Remove any broken, diseased or crossing branches in late autumn or winter. When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly.
  • Humans/Pets: Fruit are ornamental - not to be eaten
