The petals of this showy, double tulip are a pale shade of pink with lilac tones. The robust stems of ‘Kickstart’ carry good-sized (8-10cm), bowl-shaped blooms, which are tough and resilient so are also ideal for pots and window boxes in windy areas. Plant alongside the darker purple of ‘Negrita Double’ for an added kick!
In November plant bulbs 15-20cm deep and 10-15cm apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Alternatively, allow 60 bulbs per m². After flowering deadhead and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser each week for the first month. Once the foliage has died down naturally lift the bulbs and store in a cool greenhouse.
