A compact, rounded evergreen shrub with bright purple spires of freely produced flowers held above bronze-green foliage. Hebes are a great choice for providing evergreen structure, colour and form to garden borders and sunny patio pots. Easy to care for and suitable for low maintenance gardens, ‘Purple Pixie’ will go on casting its spell right until the first frosts of autumn.

  • Garden care: Hebes need free-draining soil, so before planting, dig in lots of organic matter to improve the soil condition and drainage. Water newly planted hebes regularly for the first season, especially in warm, dry weather. Remove spent flowers to encourage a longer flowering period and prune to shape after flowering, removing misplaced or frost damaged branches in late spring. This plant may need protection from hard frosts and cold, drying winds by covering them with horticultural fleece, and apply mulch around the base of the plant to protect the roots from cold temperatures.
