A compact, evergreen shrub perfect for mass plantings and low maintenance areas, with small spear-shaped leaves emerging fresh green in spring. True to its name, 'Wiri Mist' becomes cloaked in a miasma of dainty white flowers held on pretty racemes from late spring through early summer. Despite its petite size, this New Zealand native flowers abundantly, making it a top performer, and naturally forms a neat dome shape without the need for clipping. It flourishes in containers and smaller gardens, preferring some shelter from strong, drying or cold winds. With its prolific flowers, vivid evergreen foliage, compact habit, and disease resistance, this charming hebe is an easy yet eye-catching choice for a coastal garden.

  • Garden care:
Hebes need free-draining soil, so before planting, dig in lots of organic matter to improve the soil condition and drainage. Water newly planted hebes regularly for the first season, especially in warm, dry weather. Once planted, this hebe requires minimal pruning, but remove misplaced or frost-damaged branches in late spring. Protect from severe winter weather with a double layer of horticultural fleece.
