We’re delighted to unveil our new planting trowel, designed by us and used to plant our two Gold-winning Chelsea gardens!

Made in partnership with DeWit, we’re really proud of this long handled trowel. A reliable all-rounder with a good size blade for planting and weeding, scooping, mixing and potting, it’s also tough (and sharp) enough for jobs that need a bit more thwack such as dividing perennials.

The thick, flat tang joining the blade and handle is DeWit’s trademark ‘Welldone' joint - super strong with no chance of bending with normal use. You won’t have to worry about it loosening and turning in the handle like a round tang either.

If you’re working in heavy soil, the 23cm bulb end handle will give you extra leverage and a secure grip (two handed if you need). Perfect for prising out roots, stones and other debris while kneeling or sitting.

You’ll notice how light and wieldy it is too. If you’ve a mammoth planting session to do, that goes a long way. Keeping the weight down and sharpening the blade all the way around really helps to minimise fatigue on hands and wrists.

Please note: take care not to place excessive strain on wooden handles when levering out roots or rocks in very firm soil. To help, water the area well to soften ground first. A crowbar may be more suitable for very heavy or stubborn obstacles.
