It took some gentle persuasion for Sneeboer to come up with this hand spade, but the finished tool is a little corker.

For jobs where you need a bit more force or soil bearing than a trowel but don’t want the weight of a full-size spade, it's spot on. Light, easy to carry about with you and makes a great companion for kneeling to work the borders.

Shaped and honed by hand, the 3mm thick stainless steel blade has a curved leading edge to better cut through soil. It’s joined to an FSC ash T-handle at an angle to minimise back strain and make working more comfortable. When dried, ash is one of the lightest, toughest hardwoods available as it absorbs shocks without splintering.

Use it two handed to turn over soil, plant perennials, tease out weeds and rocks, as well as divide shrubs. Supplied with a 10-year guarantee on steel parts (1 year for the handle).
