Our staked bird feeder comes in a choice of solid brass or copper, mounted on an elegant black powder-coated stake. Standing 112cm high, it’s a good height to stand in mature borders, especially nestled among whispering grasses or swaying verbena and fennel flowers.

The feeder can be left out in all weathers, so it’s ideal for maintaining decorative interest when plants and shrubs are dormant.

Fill it with seeds, mealworms or titbits and the domed roof will keep them dry, as well as sheltering small birds. The narrower space between the top and bowl will help deter pigeons, parrots and other larger species from dominating the feeder.

We’ve left the brass surface untreated so it can age in a completely natural way in its raw state, achieving truly authentic earthy hues and tones.

This ‘living’ finish is impossible to achieve under any other method or surface application. It also allows for the surface to be restored to a brushed finish if required using a little elbow grease and the scouring pad provided.

The ageing process does require some time to develop, so in the first instance it may appear blotchy, but this will only improve with age.

Please note: the stake comes in two parts which screw together, with a ‘dog’s leg’ spike to secure it into the ground. Drive it into firm soil or grass using your foot; do not push down on top of the feeder. If the ground is dry and hard, water it well to soften first.
